SCOTLAND manager Gordon Strachan has handed Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney and Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser their first senior call-ups to the national squad.

Cairney, who has eight caps at youth level, has scored nine goals in the English Championship this season including a stunning effort against Newcastle on Saturday.

Fraser has scored three goals in 14 Premier League games for the south-coasters in 2016/17.

Elsewhere, Celtic’s Stuart Armstrong is set to make his debut after scoring in Sunday’s Old Firm derby.

The full Scotland squad set to face Canada and Slovakia.

The trio are included in a 30-man squad for the upcoming friendly against Canada and World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

The Scotsman’s Craig Fowler hopes the debut call-ups will inject new life into a ailing campaign.
