SNP MP seeks emergency debate over rape clause

by Emily Jamison

SNP MP Alison Thewliss says Westminster’s plans to reduce tax credits will gravely affect rape victims.

The controversial change will see payments limited to the first two children, meaning women who have a third child due rape may not qualify.

Angela Hayden of Rape Crisis Scotland said the changes will be detrimental to women in abusive relationships.
