Glasgow punters sweep record Grand National pay-out

By Nick Keyden and Daryn MacRae

Glasgow punters are the biggest winners of this year’s record Grand National pay-out after Scottish-trained horse “One For Arthur” claimed victory on Saturday.

The returns of the city’s total flutters equal a fifth of the estimated £500,000 lost by William Hill on the race – as the bookmaker took a bashing north of the border.

Rupert Adams, International PR Manager at William Hill, says Scottish wallets will feel heavier than their English counterparts.
